Reid Furniture is this year celebrating their 40th year. As one of Scotland and Irelands largest funiture retailers, the company is one on a national scale.
Reid asked ClarityWEB to produce a landing page for an e-mail marketing campaign that they were running. The campaign was designed to promote the key features and selling points of a new luxury leather range of Italian made sofas recently launched in their stores.
The Incanto range has four fundamental lines that contain a variety of luxury items in home living. The idea of the Incanto landing page is to show off these four styles in a contemporary and stylish way, therefore deliberately representing the quality associated with Reid and Incanto, delivered online.
Graphic Design Considerations
The design of the landing page was rigid in the elements that we had to use, but completely flexible in the creative freedom that we could implement these elements. This made the design initially challenging because the aesthetics of the page had to follow through with the press advertising and instore publications relating to the same product line, however delivered to suit the online environment.
The most important considerations were the space confinements of fitting alot of information into a confined space as to not make the page too long for the user. With four ranges to promote, it was decided that an interchanging and interactive panel would not only deliver a space effective page, but also create a dynamic level of inerest for the user.
An additional level of interest has been provided for the user in the design of the rollover images in the fact that the different ranges are shown within the same room environment. This means that visitors to the landing page can gauge an example of how various products from the Incanto range can work together in one room set. This not only promotes the ranges, but how items can work together. Upon the rollover interactivity the user will not only be visually stimulated by the varying sets, but also they will be given an oversight of textual information that changes as per range.
Key Features of the Landing Page
With a product shot, logo and large title of 'Incanto', the header of the site immediately promotes the purpose of the site, with details of the fact that this is a new product range available at Reid, and a large leather sofa with the embellishment of the background design highlights the style and quality, as well as the fact that it is a leather sofa range.
The interactive rollover panel is the primary function of the site, with the user having the ability to view the title and visual appearance, as well as a brief overview, of the four major lines within the Incanto range.
The overall purpose of this landing page is to intice the visitors to ultimately purchase the Incanto range. We have included on the page a large 'call to action' button, promoting to the user an option to view the full range of products on the Reid website. With a "click to buy" title on the button, the user is then aware of how to purchase the sofa range described on the page. This form of self promotion is very important for online retailing because it breaks a users doubt of where to purchase a product.
Sectioned panels have been used moving down the page to once again display alot of information in a relatively small space, with three grey boxes titled with the unique selling points of the Incanto range.
Finally the footer of the page details the list of stores that the Incanto range is available in.
