Apple - letting customers down again
Apple are at it again, disappointing customers with delivery times after giving forecasts that they simply cannot, and probably never could, meet.
A client of our parent company (Clarity IT Consulting) ordered 5 x iMac 27" Quad Core i5 machines last week. That's a not insignificant £8,000 of kit although a little negotiation took place too and they achieved a discount.
However, throughout the conversations with Apple it was stressed that delivery time on these machines was crucial in order to schedule their installation in advance and that of a RAID Server that would be installed at the same time.

Apple never budged an inch from their forecast of delivery within 10 days.
In fact they said it on 3 occasions when asked to confirm it.
So, you can imagine our client is disappointed (to say the least) to have received confirmation today that the shipping date for the machines is actually a full 3 weeks from now, and they'll have to add a further 2 days to that before they actually arrive.
How does 10 days (4 days ago) amount to 4 weeks or 20 days? The difference is inexcusable and Apple should be ashamed. Their response to our clients complaint has been equally shameful. No real efforts to change anything or apologise with any meaning - just more excuses and disappointment.
Apple - rapidly getting more rotten with customer service by the day.

Contract this to a recent Dell experience of another customer and Apple should be even more embarrassed.
Dell aren't known for swift delivery at the best of times. However, another client of Clarity IT received delivery of 4 workstations within 8 days - despite Dell giving a forecast of 3 weeks. They might have been inaccurate with the delay, but at least they were early!
