Apple announces record sales of iPhone 4G
Today, Apple has announced its most successful ever product launch sales figures - for the iPhone 4G. The American technology giant revealed it sold 1.7 million units in the first 3 days since launch, from 24 June to 26 June 2010.

Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, said:
This is the most successful product launch in Apples history. Even so, we apologise to those customers who were turned away because we did not have enough supply.
Apple sold 8.75 million iPhones in the second quarter of 2010 by comparison, perhaps an indication of a number of people holding out for the new model.
Some analysts had forecast sales of 1.5 million on launch day, so whilst that figure seems optimistic it cannot be denied that 1.7 million units in 72 hours, or over 23,500 per hour, is somewhat impressive!

Antenna to bite?
We would like to know how many of the 1.7 million buyers, ourselves included, will be contacting Apple to express their complaint about the much publicised antenna issues.
Being told, by Mr Jobs, to hold the phone differently is not what you might expect from a global leader - especially when you have forked out hard earned cash on the latest gizmo from Apple.
That said, it has not yet impacted us. Maybe we hold our phones in a manner acceptable to Steve.
